As temperatures drop, this cosy accessory has become an instant favourite in households.

Lidl Ireland shoppers are gearing up for the release of this bedroom game changer which has hit shelves today.

This handy piece of tech promises to heat your bed for just a few cents.

It comes in different sizes, with a single bed available for only €19.99.

And if shoppers have Lidl Plus they can avail of an extra 20 per cent off bringing the cost down to €15.99.

The single bed electric blanket is 90 x 190 cm.

They also have a double bed size blanket for €24.99 or €19.99 with Lidl Plus.

And the double bed blanket measures 135 x 190 cm.

And a King size blanket for just €29.99, or of course with 20 per cent off the total comes down to €23.99.

The King size blanket comes in 150 x 200 cm size.

According to Silentnight’s official description, the comfort control blanket “helps you to take complete control of your comfort and warmth.”

They continued: “The electric blanket is made from 100 per cent polyester, which is soft to touch but durable, providing added comfort to your mattress.

“Featuring three heat settings that you can adjust to set the temperature that is just right for you.”

And for even more safety it also features overheat protection for total peace of mind.

However, it is recommended that you should turn off the appliance before falling asleep in order to avoid any fire risk.

And sleep experts advise switching it off to regulate your core temperature for a less disturbed sleep.

The cosy blanket is made from super soft fleece material.

And it also has a fast heat-up with three heat settings, depending on your own preference, with a controller to choose between each.

The product pushes the slogan: “Heat yourself, not your home.”

The phrase relates to buying products, like electric blankets, that reduce the amount you have to use your heating and save your pocket.

Of course, you won’t be able to get the product online so head to your nearest Lidl to see if they’ve got them in stock next week.

THE HISTORY OF LIDL IN IRELAND

LIDL first opened in Germany in 1973.

Back then, it employed just three people, stocking 500 product lines.

The first Irish store, located just off Molesworth Street in Dublin, was opened in 1999.

This was Lidl’s first entry into the Irish grocery market.

Then, Lidl opened more stores in 2000, in Limerick, Letterkenny, Mullingar, Athlone, Cavan, Ballinasloe and Portlaoise.

Now, the retailer has over 180 stores and three distribution centres, employing over 6,000 people.

They work with a network of more than 260 Irish suppliers from the communities they operate in.
