A family shared how they turned their council home into a ‘posh hotel’[/caption]In a clip on their @nottheaveragefamily account, they wrote: “When people tell us our council house bedroom looks like a hotel.
“Let me show you how we got there.”
The first step they did was to plaster the entire room – and they added: “Wait for the makeover.”
They also added some plush beige carpets, which gave the room an instant facelift.
Another design feature they did which made a lot of difference was to add a new black radiator.
They also added soft cream bed linen and even put a projector on their bedside table which gave them a cinema wall.
It also helped to provide more space in their bedroom.
On top of this work, they bought a large plant, and cream curtains which ran floor to ceiling across the far wall.
The couple wrote: “Needs a few finishing touches. So much better, though.”
Over 1,000 people have liked the DIY job, with one saying: “Love the curtains on the full wall. Never seen that before. Looks amazing..”
Another wrote: “I did the same with no tv and a projector it’s the best.”
And a third commented: “Looks amazing.”

She said her trick helps to achieve the perfect hotel “corners” on your bed, and captioned her video: “Sometimes it’s the little things.”
In the clip, the mum-of-two showed how you first need to tuck a sheet under the mattress along the end of the bed, so the sides dangle loose.
Next, you need to lift the corner of the sheet up so that it forms a triangle shape on the mattress.
Thirdly, you need to tuck the sheet along the side of the bed under the mattress, so just the triangle point remains on top.
Lastly, you need to fold the triangle down and fold under the mattress so it creates the “perfect corner”.
Chantel added: “Treat yourself to simple luxuries.”
