BEAUTY sleep should be prioritized for maintaining a youthful appearance, revealed an expert.
Dr. Raffaella Gabassi shared the ideal sleeping position for defying the signs of aging among her skincare tips.

Dr. Gabassi is a facial aesthetics practitioner and cosmetic dentist, based on Harley Street in England.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she shared little-known beauty tips.
PRESS SNOOZE
Seven to nine hours of quality sleep every night is essential to maintaining youthful skin, according to Dr. Gabassi.
And it helps to do it in style, too: She recommended investing in a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and minimize skin creasing.
A humidifier in the bedroom can also help to keep skin hydrated.
“During sleep, the body repairs and regenerates skin cells, balances hormones, and reduces inflammation, all of which contribute to a healthy and youthful appearance,” she said.
“I tell my clients to sleep on their back as this prevents creases and wrinkles caused by pressure on the skin.
“It is important to maintain a consistent sleep schedule and to practice good sleep hygiene, as this can further support skin health.”
LAYER PRODUCTS
In your late 20s to early 30s, Dr. Gabassi said a “gentle form” of retinol can be used to boost collagen production.
She recommends brightening skin tone with vitamin C from the mid-20s onwards.
She said people of all ages can use hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump their skin, while peptides can be beneficial for firmness and elasticity from the late 20s onwards.
“Vitamin C should be applied first, followed by hyaluronic acid, peptides, and finally retinol,” she said.
“It is important to wait a few minutes between each product application to allow for proper absorption.
“Skincare products should be applied in order of thinnest to thickest consistency to ensure proper absorption and effectiveness of each.”
Applying thicker products such as creams and lotions last also helps to prevent dilution.
Cold spoons can be used to reduce puffiness, and egg whites can be used for a temporary tightening effect.

She recommended also using a lightweight, non-greasy sunscreen such as Altruist to avoid premature aging and skin damage.
PAMPER YOURSELF
Staying hydrated, managing stress, avoiding smoking, and eating a diet rich in antioxidants are all on the doctor’s “do” list.
There is also a selection of home remedies that can be incorporated into an anti-aging routine.
She recommended nourishing the skin with a DIY face mask made from a blend of honey, aloe vera, and turmeric.

“Cold spoons can be used to reduce puffiness, and egg whites can be used for a temporary tightening effect,” she said.
“Both can provide anti-aging benefits when used regularly.”
Alternatively, she suggested a professional aesthetic treatment.
“The Perfect Peel is a popular chemical peel treatment that can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles,” she said.
“It exfoliates the skin, stimulating collagen production, and improving skin texture.
“While we can do things to reduce the appearance of aging, and anti-aging solutions can boost confidence, it is also important to embrace aging and natural beauty through self-love, self-care, and acceptance of the body’s natural changes.
“Ultimately, aging is a blessing as it means we have been given the gift of time.”
