A COUPLE who converted a van into a tiny home has had to get creative.
Before they could hit the road they had to do something about the sleeping accommodations.

The family comprises of an average-height mom, two kids, and a very tall dad at 6-foot-2.
So a comfortable sleeping space suitable for all shapes and sizes had to be found.
It hasn’t been the easiest of tasks, but this couple does have form when it comes to bus conversions.
Bo and Nicole, whose TikTok is Roam With Bus (@roamwithbus), have chronicled their down-sizing adventures on their platform.
Formerly, they tackled an old 250-foot school bus.
And now they’ve gone even smaller in scale and are converting a van for their life on the road.
“We traded bus for van life and spent two weeks road-tripping around California,” they said.
They didn’t wait for the complete conversion before starting out on their family adventures.
“We still have not finished our van build. How could we when there are so many amazing places to explore?” they said.
But they admit they’ve had to think hard to accommodate this growing family.
“Maximizing space in a van is essential when it comes to sleeping arrangements,” they wrote.
This called for some radical action, but it was the only way to fit in their sleeping quarters.
“We had to make some very stressful holes in our van. Don’t worry we patched these holes up quickly,” they said.
But it was important if they were going to “prioritize a comfortable and cozy sleep set up.”
No space was wasted in this conversion and it took some clever planning.
“We realized that utilizing every square inch of this teeny tiny van is essential when it came to sleeping arrangements,” they said.
“To do this we had to extend the length of our bed so Bo at 6’2′ could sleep straight instead of at a very distressing angle.
“We then added a bunk bed to the front driver’s cab area. This area of the van isn’t used when parked so we decided to make it useful,” they added.
The finished sleeping area worked out just fine for this family.
“Now we can sleep comfortably and be well-rested,” they said.
