A PROUD girlfriend has showed off her partner’s very impressive handiwork after he transformed his work van into a stunning mini campervan.
Shannon explained how her partner Luke, who is a carpenter, decided to set to work converting his Volkswagen Caddy into a cosy vehicle complete with insulation, bed, and cosy decor using bargain buys from eBay and B&Q.
“Watch my boyfriend turn a work’s van into the perfect weekend mini camper,” she says, in a now-viral post that was shared to TikTok (@shannon_chance).
In the clip, Shannon begins by explaining how Lyke had to rip everything out so that it was “nice and clean,” before insulating the van and applying a vapour barrier.
“This is a waterproof barrier to stop moisture and condensation that’s created in the van from being drawn outwards to the metal which could cause rust,” she explains.
Following this, Luke then started panelling the interior, before adding in some lights and flooring, and then building the bed.
Sharing exactly how the cleverly designed bed works, Shannon explains: “Both sides of the bed have a latch which unclips when we want to pull the bed out.
“When we want to put it away, we just push the slats between each other and close the latches – there’s lots of YouTube videos on how to build this.”
Sharing an update of the transformation, she adds: “Almost done…just needs some decorations now!
“After lots of late nights and trips to B&Q, it was finally done! And so much better than I had imagined.”
Sharing a stunning pictuersque shot of the sea out of the back van window, a delighted Shannon enthuses: “Now we are ready for lots of adventures!”

In response to one person who asked how they shower and use the toilet, she notes: “we use campsites with facilities, or make sure we are close to public toilets.”
She also goes on to explain how they eat and says: “We use a jetboil to boil water for tea, coffee, Pot Noodles etc.
“We also bring lots of snacks with us and occasionally will buy food from local shops.”
However, Shannon did receive one question which she says “sparked a lot of debate”….”how do you breathe at night?”
She replies: “We just crack the windows at night and have wind deflectors to stop any rain coming in.
“This is important to make sure you don’t wake up with a headache.”
It wasn’t long before the video went viral online, racking up a whopping 2.1 million views and hundreds of comments from very impressed social media users.
“I beg you share a step by step on how you did it!” pleaded one.
A second penned: “Me and my partner are currently doing this with our caddy. Where did you get the folding mattress thing?? Love that idea.”
Shannon revealed: “It was just off of eBay! It’s really comfy definitely recommend.”
A third praised: “You guys did a fantastic job of this, I love Van life culture and this is a great example of how simple yet effective these layouts are.”
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “No because how did it turn cute all of a sudden.”
Another commented: “I admired it, it’s such a nice touch!”
